Aimed at Primary subject leaders of Geography, this session will provide Primary participants with the skills and tools to lead a curriculum subject or area of whole school responsibility. Course content reflects the demands of the revised Ofsted framework which focuses on Intent, Implementation and Impact of the school curriculum. The session is suitable for anyone who is new to the role of Subject Leader or would like to refresh their skills

Course Content

  • What makes quality Geography
  • How to enhance the role of subject leader with action planning using a bespoke audit that has been designed against the latest Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF)
  • How to prepare for a Deep Dive
  • The importance of progression across the school in
    knowledge, skills and concepts
  • The role of Enquiry, first hand observation of fieldwork
  • Assessment and monitoring in Geography
  • Exploration of the National Curriculum content with lots of activities and recommended resources
