BTSA and The St.Bart’s Academy Trust welcome Dutch leaders to Stoke-on-Trent
Educational leaders from Katholieke Pabo Zwolle are set for a unique week-long leadership exchange programme in Stoke-on-Trent.
The group of Dutch leaders will arrive on Monday 28 November and visit local schools from The St. Bart’s Academy Trust to see: how leadership operates in English schools; observe how classes are taught and to learn more about the daily life of a typical English school and what are the differences and similarities between the two systems. They will also have the opportunity to meet, collaborate and network with a number of local school leaders.
The visit follows annual trips by Britannia Teaching School Alliance to Katholieke Pabo Zwolle, where the teaching school’s School Direct trainee teachers undertake a week-long enhanced international placement.
Chris Brislen, CEO of The St.Bart’s Academy Trust and Executive Principal of Belgrave St. Bartholomew’s Academy, the lead school for Britannia Teaching School Alliance, said he was delighted to be welcoming colleagues from Katholieke Pabo Zwolle to Stoke-on-Trent.
He said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to host our Dutch Colleagues across the Academy Trust. It is a great opportunity to share with and learn from our visitors. We have a jam packed programme for them with opportunities to meet with people from the local authority, Derby and Worcester University as well as the leaders, staff and pupils from our local schools. We hope that some of our leaders and eventually our pupils will have the opportunity to visit schools back in Holland as well and continue to strengthen our international links and understanding.”
