  • Cost: £60 per person per session or £300 for all six sessions

This brand new professional development programme is aimed at Primary practitioners in their second to fourth y ear of teaching. Each session covers specific principles of teaching and learning in depth, underpinned by the very latest evidence.
Participants will be encouraged to reflect on their own practice and consider ways of implementing the principles in their setting.

Be secure in providing starters that recap and review prior learning and consolidate knowledge..

Purpose and Sequencing
Be secure in explaining the purpose of the lesson and how it fits into the bigger picture and wider scheme of work.
Thursday 18th November 2021
High Expectations and Communication
Be secure in ‘teaching to the top’ with high and ambitious expectations and ensure instructions are concise, clear and encouraging.
Thursday 13th January 2022
Modelling and Questioning
Be secure in presenting new material in small steps, modelling explicitly and questioning to probe thinking, address misconceptions and drive understanding.
Thursday 24th March 2022
Metacognition and Self Regulation
Be secure in communicating and teaching effective learning strategies that pupils can adopt themselves and promote independence.
Thursday 19th May 2022
Feedback and Review
Be secure in ensuring feedback is clear, manageable, specific and targeted and gained (as much as possible) from pupils during the lesson.
