December 2016 Newsletter

Welcome to the first edition of the new BTSA monthly newsletter.

“Come to the edge,” he said.
“It’s too far”, they said.
“Come to the edge,” he said.
“It’s too high,” they said.
“Come to the edge.”
They came and he pushed and they … flew. [Apolliniare]

The French poet, Guillaume Apollinaire was writing at the start of the Twentieth Century, and yet his words seem so apt today. They are the heart of all that we strive to do for our children and for our staff, in fact for anyone for whom we care. And I’m not talking about simply pushing people off cliffs! This is about leading people to places where they will learn to fly…to achieve what they didn’t think they could…it’s about Releasing Potential!

This phrase is at the heart of all that we do and aim to do at BTSA.

It’s the golden thread running through our work and we are delighted that you have been a part of this adventure. I hope you find this newsletter interesting, and that you enjoy browsing through our newly shaped website. We like it and we think it’s far easier to use.

Please let us know what you think.

Director of BTSA and Chair of the Teaching Schools Council
