TAs and Support Staff

Effective Classroom Support

Since 2012, over 2,000 Teaching Assistants and support staff have attended our programme which has been quality assured by CUREE (Centre for the Use of Research and Evidence in Education). The programme is designed for experienced or new Teaching Assistants and other classroom support staff. The session covers the four key areas of the non-statutory Professional Standards for Teaching Assistants (2016) and is underpinned by the seven recommendations from the EEF (Education Endowment Foundation) guidance report on Making Best Use of Teaching Assistants (2015).

Course content includes:

  • Personal and professional conduct
  • Knowledge and understanding
  • Teaching and learning
  • Working with others
